Two things: First: I'm pretty sure that park where Castiel and Uriel had their conversation is the same where Dean and Castiel had theirs, way back, when Castiel first confessed he was having second thoughts, and was questioning the logic of certain orders. I think it was in The Great Pumpkin Sam Winchester, not sure. What was really interesting to me, beyond the set recycling which may or may not have been intentional, was that it was cold and desolated this time around, whereas when the Dean-Castiel combo took place it was all sunshine and children playing, it was bursting with life and color, and despite the actual words uttered by our characters, we were left with the hope that there was still some hope. Now, though, it reminds me of the death of innocence -which I think it's a good way to describe what went on in this ep- where it was almost dead-looking, and Castiel got a big bucket of ice water on the head. This caught my attention, from a storytelling standpoint. Sort of.

Second: Sam-Castiel. Two different worlds, clearly. Two different approaches to Dean, while Sam was all hell bent on proving he was stronger than Dean, better suited for the job (thus validating his abilities, and probably excusing himself for the way in which they were sharpened, and also maybe trying to spare Dean the suffering, I'd like to believe), Castiel's first thought when confronted with Uriel's treason was of Dean, and of Uriel's intentions toward Dean, for a moment there it wasn't about what Uriel had done to his own brothers and sisters, it was about what he almost did to Dean. This threw me because, dude, I'm running out of excuses to continue to like Sam. I have less than kind thoughts about him, and this is actually telling of my involvement with the show's story, that I'm objecting to his actions as a person's, not as a fictional character's, maybe it's good that I feel this particular link being severed then. Dean, otoh, well, he needs to stop making me feel all sympathetic toward him. I fear for my sanity... kinda.

Wait. There's another thing, I think the moment people stop calling Castiel "Cas" will be the moment when he finally wins a hand-to-hand. Seriously.

Still on the fence about Anna. Like before she didn't rub me one way or another. I need her to be smart and tough and not simply a girl who, vaguely, reminds me of a mother's role, all protective and wise and letting her children decide for themselves.

The directing in this episode was seriously fantastic, really nice shots and stunning transitions. I loved it. Also loved the writing, in fact, I think the writing bridged a lot of the issues I (still) have with the story arc (did Uriel have to be the murderer? Did he have to die? WHY SHOW, WHY?), as this is something that doesn't fall on a writer's shoulders as much as it does on the Krip in this case. Ben Edlund delivered. And so did Jensen, he usually does, but here, boy oh boy, I had trouble focusing on anything but him. And not just because he's sort of inhumanly pretty.

Kitty pics tonight. ::sticks tongue out at Mousey::

Oh, I didn't think I'd be alone in my opinions or anything, but it's still nice to know that, no, I have not completely lost it! Haha.

Hey, you can always come back and keep on sayin', I like listening. Or, y'know, reading, as the case may be.

So so, work's been the highlight, recently. Other than that MY KITTY'S BEEN MAKING OODLES OF HAPPINESS BURST INTO EXISTENCE OUT THIN AIR, he's talented like that.

How're you, m'love?
