I have thoughts....
Wow, got lengthy over there...
I liked it like a kid likes cake, which is to say A LOT.
BUT, Rose might have irked me some... she was jealous of Martha? Why? Y'know, I worry about this particular meeting because RTD is a twelve-year-old little girl when it comes to Rose/Doctor and man, he could really blow crap up in the air for me.
Maybe I should invest some time in SJA? I'm not terribly worried about her, I know she was important to the Doctor (ex-companion and all) and I know she kicked ass, but beyond that, all I know about her I learned in School Reunion, so she worries me insofar as her fate will affect the good ol' Doc somehow.
Hi, Jack! Of course you'd flirt with the Former Primer Minister of Awesome Who Was Totally Right and Adds Points To RTD For Keeping Her True to Her Principles! And also, Gwen, I loves you, you're so cute (as cute as Jealous!Ianto). The fate of these three do worry me because I, like, loveth them lots. So.
And Donna, always rocking, man. Please don't die Donna, please don't you die!.
OMFG DAVROS!!!!! HE'S BACK, HE'S NOT DEAD. DAVROS!!!!!!!! (RTD does do interesting things with the Daleks, I give him that)
Hi Francine!!!! how awesome is it that Martha goes to her mother when scared and here at the end of all things? Very awesome, Francine is tough and nowhere near as fab as Jackie, but she's a good mother who loves her daughter and I love her for it. Martha had little to do here, other than be a bit of a plot device, but I do believe the Indigo thingy will come in handy later, plus, she has that key that she will help save the universe with. Somehow. I love how she just takes the responsibility of safe-keeping of the key because it's her responsibility. She's proactive like that.
More Rose, I loved that she came and saved Donna's family, but I did NOT LIKETHE RUNNING SCENE her whining at the screen because they couldn't see her, when most likely, the link located her because it was Donna's house, not because it was her. So, got a bone with that. Granted, she must have been frustrated, after all her running and stuff she comes so close to contact and then she CANNOT, but the older, more mature Rose I had in mind would have taken what she could get and be happy they located the Doctor and he was coming and the whole point of her running around was achieved. Maybe I'm putting too much on her, poor thing. She did okay, until she didn't want to let go of the Doctor so he could regenerate, I suspect it was more of a "don't change" than a "don't die" thing, I mean she knows he's not gonna die, so...
But Donna, she's something new! And she's still thinking of herself as just a temp, I think that after all she's seen and done, this is a good attitude because it rings true to what makes her so cool. She's strong and she won't let anyone step over her, but neither is she gonna step over anyone just because she's cooler than them. And that makes me love her more, how humble she is. Sorta.
On a final note, I really do hope the Doctor does not pull a Christmas Invasion on us and spends the majority of the next ep flat on his back while Rose emotes and despairs. Jack would take over command, of course; Donna would be helpful in any way possible; Martha would take the initiative somehow and be all heroic and stuff; and I'm hoping Rose would supply some info on what's happened in other worlds she's been through (as I'm assuming she has) and help save the day. And all this would be cool and great because it's The Doctor's Army plus Rose (and sans Sarah Jane?) but, I want the Doctor to get mad and do something because after all the crap he's been through, all the pain of having to destroy his entire planet and civilization just to have it been over nothing because the DALEKS WON'T FUCKIN' DIE? He has to be royally annoyed/pissed off over it. It wouldn't do if he didn't actively stopped them. Big Time, please.
Still, I'm excited as all hell, and I'm in utter love and lust over the team work pulled to get in touch with the Doctor. So much BRAIN man, and enthusiasm and hope and, and, and ::explodes::

They're gonna turn time back again, aren't they? They'll reverse it to be just a Saturady again, no planet- stealing and thusly, no revelation to the general population of the Earth that yes, aliens do exist and lookit, they're smarter than you!
