and OMG!
There. Missed posting these things, man.
EDIT: Oh,
too_rational are you still looking for the Dune books? because I found the eBooks I told you about. Remember? couple ages ago. So, if you're still interested, I can email them to you, just drop me a line ;D
I'm sorry, I wish I could concentrate on the general awesomeness of the ep, but I'm too busy wettin' my undies over Dean being so damn smrt! he caught the meaning of the toe tags, he figured out the history bit of the Lonely Ghost and the bomb shelter, he pretty much solved the case (yes Sam said a couple things, but I'mma stick my fingers in my ears and be all LALALALA). And then he made the device to erase the recordings. Man! is that hot, or is that hot? That's HOT!
You know what I loved the most about this? The outsider's POV, all of you saying you didn't get your Sam and Dean fix are free to throw tomatoes at me as long as you do so quietly and DON'T HARSH ON MY SQUEE because it was Sam and Dean in a completely innovative and interesting way, it was Sam and Dean through the eyes of other people, a method they tried with Roadkill and didn't completely succeed then (though it wasn't a complete failure, either) but got it spot on perfect this time 'round.
On the subject of it being a crack ep, instead of the emotionally charged fest we should be getting, what with the finale so close and the deal coming to it's end all, I wasn't really expecting them to come back both guns blazing, ya know, I mean, there is a lot of mytharc coming up in the next eps, there's the season finale coming up, honestly, I think a cliffhanger cannot be had with an overload of information, and there was the need to make things lighter for a little bit, both for the boys and the audience, we needed a change of pace, some sort of easing into what's to come. Maybe we're not even gonna get a full blown mytharc episode until the season finale itself rolls by. And I'm perfectly okay with that. Plus, the deal was looming over the boys and their interactions, that weight was still very present there. So.
We still got three more eps to go, and lots of things can happen in a single episode, so I'm not sweating it. All I'm asking is for Ruby to show her true colors (because if she really is a misunderstood soul looking for redemption I will be SO disappointed, because LAME, Kripke, LAME), and fucking disclosure her damned agenda because she's wearing me out. I want Bela's character to have some resolution, I know she probably won't make it to the fourth season, but she can have a nice send off at least. I want Dean to tell Sam there's no way to save him from Hell, and I want to see Sam's face at that moment (yes I want my heart broken, deal). I want my neighbors to turn the damn music down, but that's irrelevant to Supernatural, so we'll ignore it.
I loved how annoyed Dean was("in the salt, you idiots!") . I loved that, for once, Sam got to be exposition boy without needing to dumb Dean down (another perk of outsider's POV). I loved "it was love at first geek". I loved to have the boys back!!!
Didn't like the kiss, it was kind of unnecessary, but hey, it gave us "my best friend and my best sister" and some more Dean cursing, oh Dean, I knew you had a dirty, dirty mouth ::shifts on chair::
Dear Lord, all the swearing, Sam's shit's, Dean's fuck (ing)'s ::fans self:: "the assholes from Texas" heehee.
And, um, Dean getting his feelthy-mouthed geek on. I may have made noises... ::shifts some more:: oh, Ackles I blame this ON YOU PERSONALLY ::bites knuckle::
