Actually, I kinda love how he does that, he gets the reader so into it that the little hope events could un-happen becomes such a reality. I know it sounds masochist, but I do love it when a story gets to me that much. I remember reading parts and going all "stay there, you loser. Don't leave!" or "do something, woman. His guts are spilling out, do something!" Yeah.
DO EET!!!! it's a moral imperative. And if you can get it in English even better, that way you won't miss anything that might get lost in translation ;)
