It's kind of embarrassing if you think about it. I've read posts where people give their reasons, and they're valid insofar as they have been thought through and they are someone's opinion, but precisely to increase the possibilities of that evolution (which they think new female additions will prevent from happening) is why the new characters are introduced in the first place.
Funny thing is, if fandom's cries were heard and instead of women, we got an endless stream of men thrown into the mix to keep things moving, then the complaint would be the obvious misogyny of the show.
Yeah, it boggles the mind. To think that I became active in this fandom because of how mature and intellectual it was/seemed ::le sigh::
