FUCKING FUUUUUUCK!!!!!!
I really feel like punching something. What the hell is wrong with the world? Can't they see this man is not gonna stop UNTIL THERE IS NOTHING LEFT? until there are no resources left for him to burn through on his thirst for power? Are they so blind they cannot see how personalism-driven his entire system of politics is? He doesn't want what's best for the country, HE WANTS NEVER-ENDING ADORATION!
I am so angry and disappointed right now. Can't stop crying. Tough, tough year ahead of us, and this is NOT a good omen.

Imagine how painful it is for me to go back to that place I consider a home, and face rejection and racism I never experienced before, see how low it has fallen, how streets and schools are vandalized, how people get mugged at all hours on very public places, how kidnapping young children as become a cock fight between local gangs. To fear for my life when walking down a street two blocks away from my house, and not even entirely because I'm American, but also because I got to go to school and have private social security. I'm supportive of the Imperialism they so loathe simply because my parents worked hard to get us these commodities. I'm not saying such situations aren't lived by other people in other parts of the world, I'm not even saying I haven't been there before, all I'm saying is that it was always elsewhere, never half a yard away from where I played ball with my brother. And they call this progress.
Chavez's revolution deepens the social grid he claims to fight against, classes separation is starker now that middle class has been wiped out almost entirely. Now everybody is equal because everybody is poor.
It makes me sick to think that he keeps getting supported because he speaks to the very worst of a society. He seems to bring out the worst in people, and I have seen this personally, it boggles me that this man is considered a good leader, someone fit to rule a country. And he wants to prolong it.
I guess it makes me so mad and sad because it makes me see this harsh reality of people not thinking ahead, willing to buy into whatever senseless lie they're fed as long as some sort of material retribution comes along the lie. Many people actually attended rallies and marches because they were promised TVs and washing machines, because they were promised revenge on the upper classes that "held them slaves for so long".
I know all the influence the mass has on the individual, but it still floors me to see this level of hate-based denial. The Commander gives you the pleasure of seeing your boss moving in down the block in your increasingly dangerous neighborhood, your house is still falling little by little, but so is your old boss', this is vindication. This is government. This is Democracy.
Clearly I'm really embittered, and I have no idea what your opinion on the man is, but this is mine, not sure it even makes sense. Like I said, it's all very emotionally charged to me at the moment, in fact I don't think it will ever stop being a sore spot. Um, did I make my point? (or sense?)
