peer preasure. and headdeskery

I think I just got myself a Facebook account. Why did I do that? Will I actually put it to use?

I'm vaguely annoyed with myself, don't even know why... anyway. Will see if it doesn't get itself deleted before tomorrow, in which case, I'mma go find you!!!

Um, who has a Facebook account around here? (or who doesn't)

Well, it's not that different from LJ. I mean, in a way it's better because in LJ if someone befriends you, they can see... well most of you posts, let's say, if you're not completely Friends Only, and you don't really need to friend them at all. Now, on Facebook, if you don't accept their invitation to befriend them, I don't think they can see you... that is, if you set your profile to private, or whatever it is the equivalent of Friends Only on Facebook.

Don't get me wrong, I'm ok with Facebook, but it's not something I regularly check as I do with LJ... I usually voluntarily check it once a week or so.

PS: I love your icon! He looks very cute! *hugs Obama*

Yeah, Sonam was raving about the privacy bits, which I get and kind of appreciate, but then, if I want to make my post private it's made private, if I don't really care who reads it, well then it's not private so it's not a big deal for me. It's mainly so I can get in touch with people I've lost contact with, thing is, I'm already in touch with a lot of people I care to stay in touch with, so the social networking characteristic of it is already pretty much taken care of, and LJ serves very well the purpose of bringing new faces to my well, seems a bit ludicrous of me, but hey I was bored enough at the moment. We'll see if it stays though.

Here, have some more Obama icon
