Yeah, it was kind of heavy-handed, but then again this is Supernatural and we really ought to be used to the anvil-dropping by now. Still, le sigh.
I love how Dean interacts with kids so well, it's like he doesn't have to be somebody else with them, even with Sam he has to put some masks on at times, with children he just takes the dive and that's that. It's an honesty he doesn't get to have with many other people and I think that makes it even more poignant.
Dean *would* make a good daddy, hunting-related absences notwithstanding.
