ok, the transgenic love is way hot, and sweet and all happy-inducing.
also, excellent max pov. you do a great job of showing how conflicted she is, how irrationally she's behaving and how deeply in denial she likes to live. and it's all in a funny, vulnerable voice. you make her sympathetic and just more engaging than most writers do.
