I didn't like it at. all. Not that I was particularly attached to her character, but it seems that whenever the time comes to give a character something to do beyond plot conveniences, they must be made into adversaries and then taken the hell out. Unless you're Ellen or Jo in which case you will not be made into an adversary but still get taken the hell out. It's become bothersome because I'm bored with the doom and gloom and the single emo tear thing. Honestly, at this point, only Jensen's hot keeps driving me to watch, I simply don't care what happens to any of these people... it's sad.
Nope, been on season 2 for ages, I caught up on season one during the hiatus and then watched S2 as it aired. I agree, I think the characters themselves have changed enough that it feels like this is another show entirely, I prefer S2 because of that, actually. Arthur still abuses the crap out of Merlin, but there are serious signs of the king he'll become, Gwen is being rescued from the whole post de Troyes romance crap and seems to be getting back to represent Camelot itself (although in the original legends it was more Britain at large) and it's real power and I find that fascinating, Merlin is darker, making rash decisions like any kid his age would, only his are weighted down by the responsibility of magic, I can't imagine that being all flowers and sparkly sparks all the time, add in the general repression against his kind and the dragon's pressure about destiny and stuff, it makes sense we'd see darker greys in him. Morgana is the only one that's let me down, she became a victim instead of the one actively choosing a dark path over a lighter one, in my eyes, that prevents her from ever being actually truly evil, the real villainess that will bring about Camelot's fall, but then again, maybe there's another hijacking of the myth as it is more commonly known coming and things will be different with her. One can hope.
